This is taken from the @home Rulebook from 2012 and in it they list some desired abilities the robot should aim to have. Here they are: - Navigation in dynamic environments
- Fast and easy calibration and setup
The ultimate goal is to have a robot up and running out of the box.
- Object recognition
- Object manipulation
- Detection and Recognition of Humans
- Natural Human-Robot interaction
- Speech Recognition
- Gesture Recognition
- Robot applications
- Ambient intelligence, e.g., communicating with surrounding devices, getting information
from the internet etc.
Most of this was already posted around the site, but there are some additional points worth considering. Mainly, at an end point we'll have to have it be ambient, and consider the calibration phase during our design.
